Greetings web traveller,

Looks like you've found your way to my personal web page. My name is Gideon.

I'm a PhD student in the Biomedical Informatics Group at ETH Zürich. My interests are quite broad: convex optimization, probabilistic inference specifically variational inference, and probabilistic programming. My publications are listed on Google Scholar. I keep track of interesting things I find on the Internet on pinboard.in. I think pinboard pretty accurately reflects my various interests. I also write code and share it at github.com/gideonite. If you're a programmer and love it, I highly recommend checking out the Recurse Center. I'm Batch[Fall][2013].

Anyways, here's a photo of me playing the erhu and being joyous (erhu = 二胡. Guess how many strings it has based on the first character.):

And here's a link to David Kutz's online photography portfolio. David Kutz is my father.

Once upon a time I wrote a blog. It's old and crusty but still alive. Here it is if you want to take a gander: gideonite.com/blog.

If you want to get in touch email "me@" this domain name.

Happy trails,

Gideon.
